DVD (Shooting in Progress)
The DVD is not another survivor story (although they are helpful and important, they are plentiful) but rather tips and motivation in video form about how to cope with specific challenges. This concept is the initial impetus for creating this endeavor. Yes there are already programs available for many to go to and learn how to wear wigs, adjust makeup, and dress around circumstances, but they usually require you to go to a meeting, in front of others, losing that sense of privacy that you sometimes need. A DVD available, at home, at your convenience, could be a better approach for many. So I'm putting together much of what I've learned through trial and error on a disk so that they can be accessed by others. Not only what's been covered before, but hopefully a few NEW resources, that I stumbled on that can save time, money and face. Sometimes its all important.
Originally due out in October, for awareness month (which I prefer to call education month), I am hoping to have at least a beta version out by Christmas. Since my illness has accelerated and time is of the essence, the initial product may need revisions once produced. Ordinarily I would not rush it out, but cancer has a way of changing our schedules. This is what I've learned and will be lost if I do not share.
I believe it was Joss Stone who recently commented, "this isn't about me". I've always loved the concept of the FUBU clothing line. "FOR US BY US". This is about us.
